HELLO and Welcome to the Chalfonts and District Table Tennis League which this year celebrated its 60th anniversary!

The league was formed in 1949 to serve the table tennis needs of Chalfont St. Peter, Chalfont St. Giles and the surrounding area. Today the league stretches from George Green in the south, to Chesham in the north and to Rickmansworth and Ickenham in the east.

Last season (2008-09) was another successful one with 25 teams from 8 different clubs competing in 3 divisions of the Senior League. There was a wide variation in the standard of play, ranging from moderate adults and up and coming youngsters in Division 3 to county ranked players in Division 1.

In addition to the Senior League, a Junior League was formed in 1994 for school children between the ages of 9 and 13. Last season the league ran 2 divisions with a total of 14 teams drawn from local schools and clubs in the Senior League. Unfortunately due to administration problems the Junior League was unable to be formed for this season.

The league also holds two annual Closed Championships, the Senior Championships for players aged 15 and above and the Junior Championships for players under the age of 15. Both are very well supported and consist of a wide range of knockout events played over a week-end.

Regular coaching sessions are available at some of the league's larger clubs.

The league welcomes players of all physical capabilities and clubs are requested to afford every assistance where appropriate.

The league will not tolerate any foul or abusive language or inappropriate behaviour.
